The Stateliners 4-H Club meeting was held on Friday, Dec. 22, at the Bern Community Building. This was our Christmas celebration meeting. The club worked together to make cookie trays and cards to bring around to members of the community. When we delivered the cookies and cards, the club sang Christmas carols. Afterwards, the club ate a meal together before our meeting was called to order.

After the meal, the meeting was called to order by President Luke Renyer. The Flag Salute, 4-H Pledge, and Motto were led by Suzie Edelman and Terry Niehues. Roll Call was our favorite Christmas tradition. The meeting continued with the song “Away in the Manger.” As the meeting continued, Anna Jost read the minutes from the last meeting, Ethan Jost gave the Treasurer’s Report and Alyssa Griffith gave the Reporters Report.

Ross Mosteller then gave the Club Leader Report. This started with an Achievement Night follow up. Awards were handed out to members who could not attend. Mosteller also let us know that the club received the Purple Seal again. Reminders were given about the Food Fare, which will be held on Jan. 2. The theme decided on was Valentine’s Day. Club members are encouraged to attend.

Mosteller also gave reminders on several other events such as the 4 H Council Meeting (Jan. 8), Record Book judging in Manhattan (Jan. 9), 4-H with K-State Women’s Basketball team (Jan. 13), Citizens in Action (Jan. 18) and 4-H Club Days at Jackson Heights (Feb. 24). In addition, Mosteller gave information about the Solar Eclipse in April. Finally, Mosteller called members up to help with the Purple Seal Ceremony as the club added the seal to the club’s Charter Certificate.

There was no unfinished business. The new business included voting on a new club goal and voting to pay to cover new member fees.

Finally, the club played a couple of fun Christmas theme games. Everyone had a great time hanging out with the other club members! The next meeting will be held on Monday, Jan. 22.
