The Stateliners 4-H Club meeting was held on Monday, Jan. 22, at the Bern Community Building. The meeting was called to order by President Luke Renyer. The Flag Salute, 4-H Pledge, and 4-H Motto were led by Lindy Mosteller and Suzie Edelman. The meeting continued with the song “Home On the Range.” Since there have been so many snowy days, roll call was answered by stating your favorite thing to do on a snow day.

Anna Jost read the minutes from last month’s meeting. Ethan Jost gave the Treasurer’s Report, and Alyssa Griffith gave the Reporters Report. Ross Mosteller then gave the Club Leader Report. Mosteller talked to us about signing up for 4-H Club Days in February. He also noted that the beef weigh-in for the fair is Feb. 23. Mr. Mosteller ended by telling the club that the Bern Park Committee gave the club a certificate for volunteering each year to stain the playground equipment.

There was no unfinished business or new business to speak on. The club voted in favor of a model meeting at 4-H Days. The program was E. Jost teaching us how to make homemade biscuits. The club got to sample them when he was done. They were delicious!

Maddie Mosteller did a talk about breeding rabbits for different 4-H Fair projects. She explained to us about kindling kits, or nests, for raising rabbits. Lane Mosteller showed us his new Spiderman No Way Home Lego kit and demonstrated how he would set it up for a fair project. William Edelman did a game of chicken tag for recreation.

After the game of tag, the meeting was adjourned. Over the next month, there will be practices held to prepare for the model meeting at 4-H days. The model meeting will count as our February meeting.
