Aiden Lang is ‘Scout of the Year’

Sabetha VFW Memorial Post 7285

Prior to the meeting of Sabetha Memorial Post 7285 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Tuesday evening, April 9, Post 7285 and Auxiliary recognized Aiden Lang as the Post’s only 2024 VFW Scout of the Year participant.

Lang, who will graduate from Sabetha High School in May and plans to attend a military academy, has been an Eagle Scout since eighth grade and has submitted his Scout of the Year package every year since. Post 7285 presented him with a citation and a scholarship check for $300. His package was forwarded to VFW Department of Kansas for further competition.

Lang’s citation reads: “Veterans of Foreign Wars Scout of the Year Participant awarded to Aiden Lang [2024], Sabetha Memorial Post 7285 and Auxiliary. In recognition of your participation in the national Scout of the Year contest, this citation honors you as a stellar example of exceptional citizenship, extraordinary service and exemplary character in keeping with the highest standards of the Scouts and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.”
