Hope everyone had a great Saturday at the Maple Leaf Festival!

The One Night at the Pumpkin Patch basket is now on display at the library, where you can buy chances to win. It includes a quilted witch hat, a Halloween quilt, Bill Martin Jr.’s children’s book The Ghost-Eye Tree, a flashlight and a mask. We will have the basket at the library until next Monday when it moves to the Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale at the Fisher Community Center. The drawing for the winner will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. Proceeds from the book sale and the raffle will go back to supporting the library’s programming and projects, including the Gutter Replacement Fund.

Other upcoming events include a new program Makers Community, which will be on the first Tuesday of the month. The first meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, where farmstand owners, Farmer’s Market participants and home bakers are invited to gather, fellowship, share ideas and take part in activities. This month, the library will sponsor a fall craft.

Looking ahead into next month, the library will be sponsoring a Literary Pumpkin Decorating Contest! More details are to come, but start working on ideas to decorate, paint or carve a pumpkin as your favorite literary character. Prizes in four age categories – Elementary, Middle/High School, Adult and Family!

We also plan to be at the Mulberry Pond Pumpkin Patch for our Annual Storytime at the Pumpkin Patch. Finalizing dates, so watch for that soon!
