The Coach of the Year award recognizes the coach who best demonstrates the true ideals of the coaching profession; who leads by example, expects athletes to set and strive to reach goals, and demonstrates both technical skills and personal commitment to the overall well-being of athletes.

Teresa is the daughter of locals Chuck and Kathy Enneking. She has been a coach for 34 years. She knows the sports and how to coach them, but the best thing about her is how well she interacts with each player, encouraging them, listening to them, and making each and every one of the players feel important and valued. Teresa teaches them the fundamentals of each sport, creates fun practices, and never puts them in a situation they can’t handle, but always challenges them to get better. She teaches them teamwork, respect, honor and sportsmanship. She has truly created something special with the Buhler Special Olympics team.

On top of coaching for 30 plus years, Teresa stepped in and also took over as the Team Coordinator this past season, dedicating even more of her time to the program, these kids and their families.

On multiple occasions, she has picked a crying player up off the court or off the track and calmed them, listened to them, encouraged them, and got them back on track. She treats each one like she would one of her own kids and has earned the love she gets back from players and their families. She treats players on other teams the exact same way.

Her years of dedication to Special Olympics speaks for itself, but her willingness to step in and take over as team coordinator on top of coaching speaks volumes of how much Teresa loves her team and her players. Congratulations, Teresa.
