At 4:49 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, the Sabetha Fire Department (SFD) was called out to John Menolds at 2910 V Road to a grass fire. Upon arrival, a quarter acre was burned. No damage nor injuries occurred. The fire department returned to the barn at 5:40 p.m.

At 8:02 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, an unattended brush pile fire was reported at 11th and Roosevelt at the Brookwood Apartments. The fire was extinguished, and there was no damage nor injuries. The SFD was back at the barn at 8:20 p.m.

At 6:56 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, a structure fire was reported at Steven Edelman’s home at 2478 U Road. Edelman’s commodity shed was a total loss. His tractor and a skid loader were also lost. Cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries. The SFD was back at the barn at 9:14 p.m. The fire department received mutual aid from Seneca and Bern.
