Association of Nemaha County Retired School Personnel
Submitted by Bill Kent, Secretary
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Association of Nemaha County Retired School Personnel (ANCRSP) was held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Buzz Café in downtown Sabetha. Eight members and one guest, Bart White, were in attendance. Members answering the roll call question “What is your favorite family fall tradition?” included Linda White, Alice Zahner, Joyce Fee, Phil Figgs, Dave Clements, Jim McKim, Karla McKim and Bill Kent.
The minutes of the previous monthly meeting in July were read by secretary Kent and approved. The treasurer’s report was given by Zahner and it too was approved as delivered. Thank you notes were received from scholarship recipients, and were read to the membership. The group signed a condolence card for co-president Fee in sympathy for the loss of her father.
The group discussed the upcoming Give to Grow campaign in Sabetha in November, and made plans for group participation at the Main Event in Sabetha on Nov. 20. The group then discussed plans for distributing cookies and information about ANCRSP and our mission. The distribution of said materials will be in conjunction with Parent-Teacher Conferences on Oct. 22 in Sabetha, and Oct. 29 in Seneca. The remainder of the meeting time was spent preparing materials for the information effort in October, developing plans for the assembly of gift packages, and determining the date and time for preparation of the gift bags before delivery.
The Association of Nemaha County Retired School Personnel (ANCRSP) is open to all retired school employees, classified or certified, regardless of district of record or number of years of service. Our mission is to support retired school personnel, and encourage them to use their talents as educators to further the mission of public schools and enhance their communities. Additionally, we seek to encourage the growth of the education profession by providing scholarships for those young people interested in pursuing teaching as a career.
If interested in joining or supporting the mission of ANCRSP, contact Bill Kent at 785 285-1113 or by email at wmkent67@gmail.com.
