Benjamin Preston, 51, of Kelly was arrested on Oct. 3 by the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office (NMSO) for the offense of domestic battery. He was released on Oct. 4 on a $2,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 27 at 9:30 a.m.

Kyle Morey, 35, of Fairview was arrested on Oct. 10 by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks on charges of boating under the influence. Morey was released on the same day on a $1,000 bond. Court is set for Nov. 10 at 9:30 a.m.

Christopher Whitaker, 23, of Washington was arrested on Oct. 11 by NMSO on charge of possession of hallucinogenic drug and possess paraphernalia. He was released on the same day on a $1,500 bond. Court is set for Nov. 10 at 9:30 a.m.

Crash Reports

At 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, Eric Breeding, 45, of Centralia was traveling southbound on W Road, 1/2 mile south of 84th Road, when he struck a deer. Breeding was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. More than $1,000 in damage was estimated.

At 8:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, Blake Feldkamp, 16, of Centralia was traveling westbound on Kansas Highway 9, 0.7 mile west of Q Road, when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway. Feldkamp was driving 1991 Chevrolet S10. More than $1,000 in damage was estimated.
