4-H Club: Woodlawn Meadowlarks

Submitted by Alexis Ploeger, Reporter

As we see a lot of turkeys in November, here is a gobble of information about our club meeting. The Woodlawn Meadowlarks 4-H Club held their monthly meeting at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Woodlawn Baptist Church. Benit McClain led the Flag Salute and 4-H pledge. Maria Bauerle led the club in singing “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” for the song.

Lucy Metzger read the minutes, Ella Sourk read the treasurer’s report and Lexi Ploeger stated that she sent her report to both papers. Cecilia Becker talked about how to make a motion, and what you say and do during one.

Club committees met quickly to set some goals and plans for the year. In her leader’s report, Emily Stoller told the club that E. Sourk is celebrating a birthday this month. Nemaha 4-H Achievement Night was at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at the Community Building in Seneca. Club Day is on Feb. 28, 2026, at the Jackson Heights School.

For recreation, Marissa Ploeger led the club in making a hand turkey. The meeting was adjourned and the McClains had refreshments.
