Nemaha County Republican Women 10.08.2026
Submitted by Kay Frey
Secretary
The Nemaha County Republican Women held their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, Oct. 8. The meeting was held in the High Rise Apartment Complex meeting room in Sabetha.
President Anne Moser welcomed the 24 members and guests in attendance and the group recited the Pledge Allegiance to Our Flag in unison.
Member Mary Ryan introduced our speaker for the morning, Laurie Duran.
Duran is the house manager for “My Sister’s House” located in Sabetha. She related in depth her personal journey and how the organization of “My Sister’s House” came into being. The talk was very informative and was followed by a question and answer period. Small personal gifts were presented to Duran to be used in the house at her choosing. The gifts were donated by the attending members and guests.
A short business meeting was conducted with Secretary Kay Frey reading the minutes of our previous meeting and Treasurer Ann Kent giving her report. Frey offered prayer preceding the bountiful pot-luck luncheon prepared by the members.
The November meeting will be held in Wetmore, where we will be touring the Military Museum and celebrating our Veterans.
